Sam discovered yoga in college, inspired by a roommate’s encouragement to give it a try. What started as curiosity grew into a passion for the mindfulness, movement, and self-compassion that yoga offers. In the summer of 2022, Sam completed yoga teacher training and began teaching in Winona, offering classes at Saint Mary’s University and the YMCA. Her approach emphasizes gratitude, balance, and creating a welcoming space for students to connect with their bodies and find inner peace. Sam’s mission is simple: to help others discover the transformative power of yoga, one pose at a time.

I've done all sorts of yoga classes from hot yoga to meditation-based practices over the last couple of years, and I absolutely love it! My favorite part about yoga is that it dedicates a small chunk of my day to prioritizing self-care and being fully still in my mind, body, and soul. I would love to provide this same experience for students at Saint Mary's! On yoga club Eboard, we emphasize fostering a calming, energy-rooting practice to serve as a break from our chaotic college schedules.


Our Presidents

My name is Shania Vanlewin and I'm currently a Junior/Senior in the 3+2 Physician Assistant program double majoring in Biology and Spanish. I'm originally from Lakeville, MN and started attending yoga classes at my home town gym. My co-president and I, Natalie Picard, are so excited to be leading Yoga Club this year and continuing to teach people about the benefits of yoga! :)
